On Thursday, 7 December, the Digital Storytelling & Oral History Lab met with Kirk in the SBS Tech Media Lab. Kirk offered a full tour and hands-on training with the studio cameras and other easily portable video cameras. We discussed the video cameras and DSLR cameras, their differences, and what sorts of expertise we might need for each of those.
Tripods. Camera angles. Lighting. Microphones. Shot composition. And together we pondered about depth of focus and what do we do with what is behind the person we’re interviewing? How do we compose that as well? Does it support the purpose and stories you’re trying to collect? In what ways/
